Clarence Davids & Company is proud to have so many long-term employees. It is because of the commitment of our staff that we are able to be a consistent leader in the landscape industry. Below are some comments from Bill Davids regarding each employee celebrating an anniversary this year.
45 Years
Maximino Zermeno is one of our veteran foreman at our Plainfield branch. He brings 45 years of dedication and experience to Clarence Davids & Company. Maximino is well versed in all of our services that we provide and is respected by all. Thank you, Max, for all that you have done and continue to do.
40 Years
Jorge Alvarez is a wonderful knowledgeable employee. He has been with our company through a lot of changes. Approximately 20+ years ago he relocated as we started our north branch location. Jorge has been key to our continued growth. Jorge has been instrumental in training new employees by teaching proper techniques, great work ethic and quality workmanship. He is a valuable asset to our company. He always has a smile. Jorge enjoys spending time with his family and continues to work alongside his two brothers and one nephew.
35 Years
Todd Meyer is our Plainfield branch manager. Todd is also vice president of production, leader of our safety program and manages many of our largest clients. His branch employs eleven maintenance crews, eight landscape crews and two lawn care crews. His loyalty and management skills keep us running efficiently. Thank you, Todd!
Fidel Gonzalez has been with us for 35 years. Fidel is the father of Octavio Gonazlez and Jose Gonzalez. Octavio is a supervisor at our north branch office. Fidel is a very dedicated crew member. In all these years he has never missed a day of work! Remarkable! Thank you, Fidel!
Martin Zermeno, brother of Max, brings 35 years of maintenance experience as a foreman at our Plainfield branch. Martin’s routes consist of nearly 100% residential clients and he excels at the detailed work. Martin is dedicated to his craft and has a great, infectious work ethic, which inspires his crew. Thank you, Martin, for your 35 years of service.
Daniel Olaguez was one of the nicest people you could meet and always made a hard job look easy. Daniel started off as a crew member on Saul Arellanos’ crew (one of the original foreman for Mr. Davids Sr.) and we quickly discovered Daniel was a great leader. He was then promoted to foreman and was taking care of some of our biggest accounts. Daniel always worked hard and had a great way with crews he led. Before his passing, Daniel achieved a milestone of 34 years with Clarence Davids & Company. We will miss Daniel and pray for his family.
30 Years
Salvador Rojas is part of generations of Rojas’ who have worked at Clarence Davids & Company. Starting as a teenager, Salvador worked on his father’s maintenance crew at the old Blue Island location before transferring to our office in Plainfield. Currently, Salvador is a landscape foreman who specializes in annual installation projects. As important as seasonal color is to our clients, Salvador has diligently worked to help create visually appealing sites.
Manuel Huirache is a foreman out of our Matteson Office. Manuel has been the foreman for a very large prestigious multi-family, single home and townhome development for the past 15 years. Manual does a great job handling all of the different requests he gets from the residents. He is a loyal and dependable foreman who works hard keeping their property looking its best.
Gabriel Espinoza works as a landscape foreman for our Matteson office. He has an outstanding work ethic and is always eager to work on challenging projects. Gabriel is very detail oriented and holds his work to the highest standards. We thank him for his 25 years of dedicated service.
Jesus Gonzalez works at our Plainfield Branch and was recently promoted to a maintenance project manager. Jesus has 25 years of experience in our maintenance and lawn care departments. This experience has made the transition to his new position seamless. Jesus is well respected by his peers and his great leadership skills will be appreciated by all. Congratulations, Jesus, on your promotion!
Jorge Gonzalez has been a most respected and trustworthy crew member for 25 years. He is a talented tree pruner and holiday decorator. During the winter months, Jorge coordinates all the driveway and sidewalk snow removal at a large gated single family and townhome community. Congrats, Jorge!

Darlene O’Lena was a teacher before coming to Clarence Davids & Company. She blesses us daily with the skills and qualities she obtained in that experience by teaching us and being a continuous learner. Now she plays a critical role by directing our safety program, managing our payroll and as assistant to the controller. What an incredibly dedicated, loyal team member she is! 20 Years
Sergio Acuna is celebrating 20 years with Clarence Davids & Company. Sergio is a hardworking maintenance crew member out of the Matteson office. During the growing season he takes care of two multi-family townhome properties and during the winter he operates a skid steer for snow removal at a large industrial park.
Steve Bos is a seasoned landscape architect. He has led the Plainfield design department with his creative ideas and technical computer skills. He specializes in providing innovative yet functional landscape and hardscape designs. Steve’s focused and efficient productivity serves our clients well through our busy seasons with his can-do attitude consistently meeting deadlines even in the busiest of times. Thank you, Steve, for 20 years of creative, positive energy!
Victor Campa has worked his way up to maintenance foreman at the Matteson office. He maintains and expertly runs large properties. Victor is very dedicated and hardworking.
Pedro Enciso is a long term maintenance crew member at our Plainfield branch. He is very dedicated and brings 20 years of experience to the maintenance department. Pedro also helps in the construction department and drives a skid steer for us during snow removal. He is a very dependable employee and we thank him for his 20 years of service.
Horlando Herrera worked his way from a maintenance crew member to a swing crew foreman and now up to a foreman at our Plainfield branch. His daily routes contain multiple sites, which displays his excellent time and site management skills. Thank you, Horlando, for your 20 years of service.
Jose Lira is our swing crew foreman at the Matteson office. He runs and operates our bat wing 16′ landpride mower at a large software campus. Jose is our man to fill in during the season for our vacationing foremen. Thank you for 20 years!
Elicio Nuci Acuna has been working on a maintenance crew for the past 20 years. He is very dependable and enjoys his work. This season, he started running a downtown snow removal route as foreman. Keep up the good work, Elicio!
15 Years
Jose Cervantes is a valuable resource to whomever he assists. Efficient crews need great laborers to work together. For fifteen years, Jose has filled that role. Every foreman wants him on their crew. His hard work and can-do spirit make Jose an asset to the landscape department in Plainfield.
Allie Corbett, a registered landscape architect, has been a strong asset for Clarence Davids & Company for the last 15 years. Her design knowledge and creative use of annual color is essential to our business. Allie is a great support to all of our account representatives and also manages several accounts of her own. Thank you for being such a team player, Allie!
Mark Lacosse is our main materials delivery person for the Matteson landscape division. Mark is very safety conscious and has a lot of truck driving knowledge. He is a very dependable employee and is a key component of our snow plowing team. Thank you, Mark, for your loyal service to the company.
